M É T I E R M O D A

Métier is an ongoing experiment without limitations which explores the intersection of art, sculpture, fashion, architecture, technology, literature, and cinema as mediums for expression.

C A T A C L Y S M: Collection 1

The first collection C A T A C L Y S M looks inward at the self. Two skins, R E T I NA signifying death and E C D Y S I S signifying rebirth, function as an expression of identity.

Wearable objects that perform as design that which imitates life were selected as test samples to convey the conceptual extraction of our humanistic interior that one can exhibit with their skin.

Sample A is a test of the R E T I N A skin pattern, formally applied as two separate useable objects: a clutch and a mask. The pattern of retina is a reflection of the veins that wrap the eyeballs and calculate visual images to the brain. Capturing these messages within the context of our personal C A T A C L Y S M, we use R E T I N A as an expression of our foresight.

The change begins with death. We make space for new things to come. We contemplate our past as it informs our future. We kill the parts of ourselves we want to purge. This foresight enables us to see within ourselves. What do we love? What do we despise? What should we change?
